As we mentioned last month RAOK, Inc has partnered with Brett Lance, a student at Adairsville Middle School, to help raise 10,000 books for the new EMPTY Adairsville Elementary School Library. Brett was appointed to the Student Advisory Council by the Superintendent, Richard Woods. Through Brett's efforts to raise awareness for this project we've been able to help bring in 600 books as of March 13th and anticipate many more before the end of the year.
Yesterday we made our bi-weekly trip to the Adairsville Elementary school and met the wonderful media director, Ms.Hicks. Ms. Hicks was so thankful to have received the books donated by our friends at JSquared Auctions. I also sat down with the School Principal, affectionately known as Ms.Z. What an amazing leader! Ms.Z shows care and admiration for all of the students. She makes a special effort to know every single child's name. I was amazing at the level of attention and care within the school. Each person, from the front desk to the teachers, students, and administration were welcoming. Adairsville Elementary clearly has it goin' on!
If you are interested in supporting the Book Drive you can contact me directly to donate any books you may have lying around. We also have the list of requested books and a GoFundMe page created by Brett Lance.
